At last.....

Finally I am able to do laundry without having to do the basement steps. What a day this has been and, of course, everything seemed to snowball but the end result is that its finished and its all been done correctly. I already have a load in there washing and the workers have only been gone about 45 minutes. One good thing is that the rain held off so I didn't get a bunch of mud tracked in. It is an unbelievable 70 degrees outside....but unfortunately we also have a tornado watch. Its clouding up and I'm ready for a nap.

yay! That didn't seem to take too long - and they fit very nicely there.

Have a good weekend!

Well that's a pocket full of good!

Can you tell what fiwa and I do at work with our afternoons ?

Blogging at work - we're bad.

You mean something went according to the script for once? Yay for Val. And it looks real nice too. I wish I had a basement...do people use them as a functioning room or store all their junk in there? For me I'm thinking junk.

Yeah, Val...you were rockin' and rollin', weren't you? I just missed it in your area, but Nashville had us jumping with watches and warnings. Schools at one point were on lockdown.

Everything looks so good, Val. Good for you!

I heard it's supposed to snow for you again tomorrow? Ugh--be careful, keep warm, be well.

You will love having these so much more handy, and it's a pretty spot! Now I can't wait to get ours installed and have a nice laundry area too!

I am SOOOO jealous! Mine is still in the basement (17 LONG, winding steps down)and of course, all the clothes go on the second main floor, (which is 18 LONG, winding stairs up)! UGH.

It looks wonderful. Enjoy.

Hugs. :)

now if you could just figure out how to fit them into the bathroom, or even better, the room next to your bedroom.
Where the mostest laundry comes from and goes to, eh?

I dunno. Been singing that song for too many years, but, very few folks take it seriously.

So, at my blog, at the top right hand side is the link "when the tv's broken" well, there's something cool in there that my Sis sent me.
She finds the coolest sort of things!

I grew up in a rancher, so the laundry room was off the garage. I've been in my house for 14 years and my laundry room is off the family room. I've never had to deal with inconvenient laundry. Congratulations on getting your washer and dryer upstairs! Now laundry can be fun to do. Well, you know...

Looks good! I'm so glad for you, I know how it goes. As it is, my laundry comes from upstairs and it usually falls to me to carry it downstairs to the washer.

I hope you get your nap!

I am jealous too. My washer and dryer are in my basement. And it is probably a good place for them since they are that putrid avocado green that was so popular when they were made, circa 1976.

They came with the house when I bought it and I gave them a year to live, but they are Whirlpools and just keep rocking on in their own ugly way....

fiwa - I was impressed...even with the problems encountered, it only took 2 days.

Brad - what? You're not supposed to blog at work?

Gypsy - I used to use the main part of the basement, which is finished for a play room for the kids. It was great. Now, its storage for a lot of the kids' things and, of course, mine.

Mapi - yep, we had some snow...old man winter just flipping us the bird one last time this season (I hope)

jyankee - it does look very nice and I'm happy. Yep, this is tornado season now...up until September.
Hopefully it won't be too active this summer.

Josie - oh I bet you're excited. I'm excited for you too.

Jamie - YIKES woman! That's a LOT of stairs...you must have Tina Turner legs!! Look for 1st floor laundry in your next house!!!

Boney - yep you're right about the location and a lot of the newer places are now doing that. The video from your sis was funny!

Cheryl - you know I actually LIKE to do laundry...I'm just not fond of folding and putting it away. I used to make the kids do that part. LOL

Kelley - Carry? You said carry? not me...I would throw it down and then walk down after. I used to wish there was a way I could throw it back UPSTAIRS when it was done.

Maria - Whirlpools and Kenmores (made my the same company) are workhorses. That's what I have (Kenmore). That green set of yours is liable to last FOREVERRRRRR.

yippee---- i had my laundry room way out in our detached garage once-- now that sucked .. but obviously it didn't kill me. it prolly would now though.

yours looks really nice. i bet it's worth every dime you spent. what was in that spot before? looks like a good place for a desk.

anyhow-- i have some laundry you can do for me, just in case you want to break your machines in some more :))

hope you have a great day

Soul - my hutch was in that spot before...its now in the living room and looks pretty good there. And yes before I got the hutch...that's where my roll-top desk was for many years. Those machines are 7 years old so I'm praying they will last at least another 7. LOL, I'll do your laundry no problem..but you gotta fold and put away.

There's nothing exciting on tv till later, so, come look at the post at my blog.
There's a "present" there for ya.

It would be nice not to have to go up and down the basement steps to do laundry! Enjoy it!
