THAT'S what I'm doin'! My daughter just got her son's (my grandson) braces off after years of him wearing them and her paying for them on the installment plan. HA.
He went to a party last night and during this so called get together where half of the people seem to be unknown to the hosts of the party, my grandson got hit in the MOUTH by some crazed kid that "no one knows". He hit him (for NO reason) and then took off running with one of my grandson's friends in hot pursuit. He jumped the fence in the backyard and was gone. Poof! Ever try to get a logical true story out of teenagers? It's like driving into the Twilight Zone ....into madness......where nothing makes any sense or has the same meaning.
My grandson (17 yrs old) is now sporting HALF of a front tooth. That's right peeps....this idiot broke his tooth and it sure looks to me like he smacked the other teeth crooked again...if that's possible. My grandson thinks it MAY have been over a girl. Sigh (rolling my eyes)
So if you hear reports on CNN of two women (that would be me and my daughter) running around in a yard, screaming and pulling their hair out.... Well, now you will know the reason for it.
I'm thinking that the homeowner's could be held responsible seeing as though it happened inside their house. What do you think? It was a witnessed unprovoked attack and my daughter does not have dental insurance.

Oh crap....dejavu.
My youngest son, after getting his braces off....jumped over his drum set (on stage ,in front of the whole school) and broke his front tooth in half.It costs us over a thousand bucks to have it fixed. (and the root canal that had to be done because the roots were now exposed)
About a year later ....I kid you not....he broke the same damn tooth in half again!
The story I was told was "some kid he did not even know slammed his head backwards into Logans face at Ozfest" (concert)
Well, this time ...big boy was grown and we made HIM pay to fix it the second time!
It's never the kid with the cheap teeth.
I feel for you guys: )
Oh my!
I think your daughter should definitely see if the homeowner can be held responsible.
No harm in trying.
Bear((( )))
Well holy crap Charlotte. Just what the poor kid, your daughter and YOU don't need. I'm sorry. I certainly would try and get some sort of help from the guilty parties. UGH. Some days, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.
Hugs, honey.
:)
Wow... yeah I would look into the homeowner thing...of all the luck... worse than Murphy's law eh?
My mother told me that when you've raised a child you've been through more than words can tell. I found her to be correct but I like your description better - "into the Twilight Zone". . . .
If I were your daughter, I'd try to get help from homeowner's and I'd also try to find who the kid is. Surely someone knows. His parents should finance the dental work.
Ugh...
Can't say much else but echo everyone else. I'll be watching for you on CNN... JA!
Be well, Val.
For the love of Pete!! I would be first of all trying to find out who the kid was and getting him or his parents to pay. Surely someone must know who he is.
I often wonder how we all afford kids.
Hope something can be worked out. Your poor daughter must be fit to be tied.
Good grief! I don't know about suing anyone, but sheesh!!
what horribly bad luck! Does he have a summer job? he could help pay for it.
oh man.. you know soulkid just got out of years of braces jail-- i feel all y'alls pain... i would absolutely fall to the floor and cry if i had to shell out another couple grand on that mouth. i'd be tryin to get some kind of help from somewhere. someone. this just makes me get heart palpitations-- good luck !
let us know how it goes.
oh man that awful....hope she get the other party to help with the dental bills.....
If this isn't a case for "The People's Court"....I don't know what is Val. I sure would be trying to find out who that idiot kid was who punched your grandson in the mouth. If you can't find that info out....yep, I'd look into the homeowner....no dental insurance and the aggrevation alone would do it. It never ceases to amaze me at how kids could care less about paying for the consequences of their actions. They never assume they're going to get in trouble for anything anymore. Knock someone's teeth out...who cares...just run away. Can you imagine Val? Please don't pull all your hair out...you have such pretty hair....and besides, you'd have to go buy a wig. Sending you hugs..... ~Joy
Awww...as sad as the story is, I would hate to see another member join the litiginous society of America. Things happen at teen parties (or adult parties, for that matter). One vote for not bugging the hostess.
Older n Dirt
Yea, like that lolcat says...WTF?
