One of my all time favorite comedians, George Carlin...God love him, is gone. This man has made me laugh so hard that I have found myself gasping for air, doubled over, red in the face, peeing my pants...totally out of control hysterically bellowing out screams of laughter. Is there anything in the world better for you?
I have played his tapes when I was blue, only to find myself with a silly grin on my face in no time and my blues flying out the window. I never tired of his stuff.
I have posted a couple clips of his below; one about embarrassing moments and the other one is about cats. No cat owner can listen to that one without an out-loud burst of laughter. I hope you can view them. If so, enjoy!
So, old friend, I hope that now you can find that huge pile of "lost stuff" you talked about in your "stuff" routine, which makes me grin even now. You did good....you did your job....you made us laugh....and now you can make the angels laugh...but just remember that now, even though God DOES have a sense of humor, you REALLY DO have to watch your language. Good-bye old friend.

One of the few true comedians. He was good, wasn't he? I grew up on "7 dirty words". hehehe He will be missed.
He really was a great comic. And a deep thinker, something there's not thats missing from a lot of comedy.
Man, everyone is blogging about this today. :( I'm going to totally miss his comedy. He was brilliant.
The man was a profane genius. He put life into a quirky perspective that was so much a part my younger years. I'll miss his outrageous view of life.
Our house is in mourning too.
last summer I watched an amazing interview with George Carlin by Tim Russert - both brilliant in their own rights and the combination was just wonderful to watch. *sigh*
I grew up with George Carlin as my meter for great comedy and I doubt anyone will ever truly replace him.
Awesome post Charlotte - I think YOU said it best.
I will miss him, too.
God will now have alot of new material to laugh at...
:)
Honey was there supposed to be pics or something here because all I've got is two blank white spaces?
I'm sorry to say I don't know George Carlin. I'm off to see if I can find a YouTube because if you thought he was funny you can bet I will. It's always sad to lose one of the greats no matter what field they're in isn't it?
Gilda Radner, Erma Bombeck ,Lewis Grizzard,John Candy and now George Carlin . *sigh*
No one can replace the comedy greats.
:(
I was able to see one of his shows about twenty years ago. He was incredible....
I was thinking of writing a post about George....this could have been it Val. I feel the same way. I just put a small note in my most recent post as a little tribute to him. He was one of my all time favorites too. What a wit and a brilliant mind he had. Thank you Val....
