Wasted time.....

I have invested the time to read a 566 page book called The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, as mentioned in a previous post. I finished that book today and had to really control an overwhelming impulse to throw the book across the room. After investing all that time, I feel that one is entitled to have at least a good feeling.....or something pleasant, if not thought provoking.....when you finish a book. Not this senseless mind numbing....WTF feeling.

Its rare that I've been so disappointed in a book, although I'll have to admit there have been a few in my lifetime. I would NEVER recommend this particular book to anyone. It wasn't that terrific to start with....but I kept having faith that it would get better. By the last 3 or 4 chapters it all went to hell. If you still want to read it....be forewarned!

Needless to say, I am now in a horrible mood. I need to find something funny to cheer me up....maybe I can find a light-hearted movie to lose myself in.

Anyway....I'm sorry I've been away for so long. I still can't believe how fast time passes. Wish I could say I was on a cruise or something, but I've been working, either at home or at my paid job. I'll return in a bit with more general bitching....after I make myself a drink. HA

Book Meme.....

Thanks for the tag, Boney.....ahem. I've managed to avoid this one for about 6 months now...but you finally got me!

It seems perfectly easy, all you have to do is “pick up a book on the top of your book stack, turn to page 123, read the first five complete sentences, then post the next three sentences."

So I went to my pile of books here next to my computer and took the one on top, the one I'm due to read next....You've Been Warned by James Patterson and Howard Roughan. These are the sentences called for:

"Not that I could see these new ones coming. I lean back into his familiar gray leather couch and describe some of the events of the past few days, culminating with spotting my dead father this morning. Dr. Corey listens while puffing away, not saying a word."

I'm really not quite sure what this is all supposed to mean or do for anyone....except maybe if you have the right book, it may turn out to be humorous. I've done my share and played along. I'm not going to tag anyone...but if you'd like to play, please be my guest. At least its an easy one.
