Home at Last.....

Lord have mercy! When I got home this evening I wanted to kiss the kitchen floor. Talk about a jungle out there! People are absolutely INSANE. They are driving like idiots, honking and squealing tires, cutting people off, slamming on brakes at the last minute. I had one guy miss me by INCHES…he had drifted over into my lane. I still can’t figure out how he missed ripping off my mirror on the side. Then I almost rear-ended someone because they stood on their brakes to turn into a store at the last minute. Good thing I keep a good distance back. Traveling on today’s roads is not for the meek, that’s for sure.

I came in my house, threw off my coat, thanked God for seeing me home safely and promptly made myself a stiff drink. I still need a few things at the store but I’m honestly afraid to venture out tonight….so I will wait until Monday morning. I conveniently have that day off so I’ll make the most of it.

Yes, I’m planning another family night tomorrow. We will watch the newest Harry Potter and Shrek III. I’m fixing a ham with baked beans and au gratin potatoes. I may even make the holiday meatballs too. Can’t think of a good dessert yet (its got to be easy). I’ll come up with something…maybe pumpkin bars.

In the meantime, I’m now in my jammies and have finished a drink so I’m feeling much calmer. Hope you all have a happy Friday…Oops…my weather alarm just went off and we have a “Winter storm watch” in effect. Possibly up to 8 inches of the S-word by Sunday night. Good heavens……pour me another drink.

Oh, I know what you mean, people drive so crazy these days, sometimes I wish I had a paintball gun to shoot the cars that are reckless. It's not unusual for me to have at least two close calls every time I go out.

Yup, gonna have a messy weekend, I made sure I have what I need to get through it. Wish it would go farther south, those folks down there need rain more than we need snow.

Geez Val, I'm glad you're ok. It's frightening when you have close calls in the car. Why don't people realise they are driving a lethal weapon and not a bloody dodgem car.

Enjoy your family night Val and have a good weekend.

Holy Crap! This weather just won't let up this year, will it? We are supposed to get another 5 or 6 inches of snow today...I'm already tired of it, and the truth is, I haven't had to deal with it at all, I have been stuck inside this year, just looking out at it. Usually, I am out battling the stupid drivers like you. Oh well, it will be what it will be. I'm happy to know you are safe at home.

Pumpkin bars sound great! I want to cook again---let me know if you make some, I'll drop by!

Good morning, Val:

With the accidents we've experienced, you know how I feel about drivers now. We still don't have the truck back after the girl on the phone? ipod? whatever didn't see the truck stopped at a red light and took off our car door as she slammed into us then flipped her own car back on Columbus Day. Don't even get me started...

They are calling for mainly ice, not snow, here. I guess we're along the demarcation line this time around--too bad, I was hoping to go Christmas Caroling tonight, and that may end up not happening. Oh, well.

Have a wonderful weekend, and be well.

Amen sister - people are acting nuttier than usual for this time of year. Road rage seems to be going to an all new level. I'm glad you made it home safe & sound.

Your family night sounds like SO MUCH FUN! And yummy. Can I come?? :)

Have a wonderful time and stay warm and snug!

lovins,
fiwa

As I write this, my poor husband is braving Toys R Us. He called me to tell me he loved me in case he didn't make it. I told him to stand in the aisle he needs and scream like a girl.. that oughta clear it out!

Glad you made it home in one piece. Enjoy your get together!!

Thanks for visiting my blog... :)
