Not gonna cry.....

My mom always said that when children are little they step on your toes and when they get bigger, they step on your heart. My son certainly has made that little statement come true many times. He has finally moved out and I should be doing the Happy Dance but he left on bad terms. He said a lot of things that hurt and it will take me some time to recover from his verbal attacks. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

I'll dig around and find my smile that ran away. I'll put it on and be back in a couple days. In the meantime, I'm visiting all of you, but not really commenting often. I'll be fine as frog hair in a few days....life is too short to dwell on things that are upsetting. I just have to stifle the urge I have of wanting to smack him right in the face as hard as I can. Oops....did I say that out loud?

I have a few things to say, but because my momma raised me to not say anything if I don't have anything nice to say, I will keep my mouth shut.

Wishing I could surprise you at your doorstep with hugs, smiles and take-out for dinner...

Be well, Val.

So sorry to hear that you are upset.
There are times when you just need to step away from everything.
Just remember that we are here for you when you are ready to talk.
Big bear hugs to you.

So sorry to hear that your son left on bad terms and sorry to hear you are feeling down.
Hang in there - things will improve.

I'm sending happy thoughts your way. :-)

I heard that same saying from my mom.

Ditto that. They can rip our hearts off like an old band aide....and they won't even realize it until they're much older.

Guess that's why God gave us old ladies girlfriends:)

Hope your heart wounds heal quickly. Hugs!

Our children have the power to break our hearts. I'm so very sorry that your son chose to leave on bad terms. I'm sure he will realize what he's done and be sorry.

Sending you hugs and a smile. Take care and heal.

Oh sweetie....you need hugs....lots and lots of hugs. This too will pass. You are wise to give it time. Kids...what a roller coaster, huh? Hugs, Joy

I'm sorry sweets - He gave you no choice. Take it from this son. Some of the things I said to my mom when I was younger still weigh heavy on my heart eevn though I've apologized many times and been forgiven. He will have to deal with his own heart and mind for the way he treated you for a very long time.

(((HUGS)))

It will take time, but it will get better.

You know he's really just angry at himself and he's taking it out on you because he knows you're strong enough to handle it. And you are. But that doens't mean it's OK. Or that it doesn't hurt.

xoxo to you.

Checking in on you today.

Thank you for checking in on me yesterday. You and your words and guidance have given me a lot to think about, and a great deal of strength to make solid steps toward making things right. To some, they might be baby steps but to me, they are huge mindshifts and I am proud of myself for at least taking them.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Be well, Val.
