Well, after reading Jamie's post, I decided to also join the A-Z Challenge. The button is on my sidebar if you'd like to join us. I'm number 973. This challenges you to write a post for every day in April and each one begins with the next letter of the alphabet. X should be interesting, I'd say. Anyway....this is going to be a real challenge for someone like me who only posts about 3 times a month. LOL
But now on to my "A" post. I'm so proud to say that last night we went to Parent-Teacher conferences and my granddaughter is on the All A Honor Roll! We are so very proud of her. She's only been at this new school since February 14 and has worked very hard. Her hard work shows! They also had the kids stand up and do reviews on a book they've recently read and they also had to make up a poster board presentation and then actually perform a task that was mentioned in the book. My granddaughter made a huge valentine....showing how to cut out hearts and put ribbons on them. She then passed out home-made valentines. This was from the Junie B. Jones book, Mushy Gushy Valentine. These are great books for the 1-2 grade level. She was very surprised when she won the 1st Place ribbon for best in the elementary category. Again....I'm so grateful that we transferred her.
So that's it. My A post is all about my granddaughter, whose name starts with an "A" and her being on the All A Honor Roll.
TGIF.....have a good one and a wonderful weekend.

How sweet and how special for you and for your granddaughter. Success early on in life is a wonderful boast to self confidence.

I did the A-Z thing a few months ago. It helped me get back into blogging mode, but it became a challenge finding something new each day. Have fun with yours.
Congrats and good luck on the challenge... hey Baby Bean's name also begins with "A"... ha ha...but I have yet to join the challenge. Just lurking at the moment.
Love the slice of life post about your granddaughter. Some of the best things I've read this morning have been like yours; they're people sharing from the heart. Nicely done.
Keep up the good work.
Best,
Joe Richardson

1st-Congratz on the A Honor Roll for your granddaughter...Super~!! Will check back on "B"...
Hugs, Margaret...
Congratulations to your Granddaughter! What a sweet post to Honor her...
That's so great! I don't think I ever made the Honor Roll once in my entire academic career.
Look forward to getting to know you this month!
Your granddaughter is doing fabulous in her new school. That is great news and congratulations to her. : )
What a change a school makes! And you're very lucky that her name begins with A and she made straight A's. I'd hate to think her name began with a D and she made straight...uh....well, it would be a good post in three days...but I don't think you'd use it.
I am so happy for your granddaughter!!
Oh Val - that is wonderful news. I am so happy that you moved her, too. Being happy in school will be a huge difference for her, for the family.
And YEA you are doing the challenge, too. Yes, it could become a bit "challenging". I wonder if that is where the name comes from.
Hugs, hugs, hugs. You sound so much better and I love that. :)
I'm just thrilled for your granddaughter. What a difference this school has made!
How delighted I am that you have joined us in the A-Z challenge, and what a wonderful uplifting post this is! Sounds like the new school is exactly what your granddaughter needed and she certainly has done an outstanding job so far. I bet she's inherited her Grandma's love of books! :-)
