I'm back in the game.....

Yes, I have both of my computers back from the repair guy. They seem to be working ok now but this whole ordeal has made me very shaky about the info on my hard drive. I'm going to have to get my pictures organized and put them on a DVD so I can feel secure that I'm not going to lose them.

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. In the mid 70's and nice bright sunshine. The leaves are beginning to turn and some areas around here are getting pretty colorful. I went grocery shopping after work.....one of my favorite things to do. Why, I like it as much as I like to iron! Ahem. Anyway, I was quite surprised that the store was nearly empty and I was able to get in and out in record time. Needless to say, I was glad to finally get home and relax.

Some of the TV programming this fall is really unusual. I've come across a series called Swamp People. Its about several Louisiana families who make a living catching alligators. These people work hard and seem to make a pretty good living doing this. The programs have all been interesting so far. Then there is another Louisiana family who specializes in pest removal....bugs, snakes, skunks, you name it. They are good at what they do but I sure wouldn't want to do it. That's interesting too and gives you the creepy crawlies just looking at it. Then there is Hoarders.....look at an episode and you'll never again feel that your own house is cluttered or dirty.....guaranteed. I've been looking at Project Runway lately and now am hooked on that too. I had no idea how hard it was to be a fashion designer.....not to mention the stress. I used to watch Fringe...it was a favorite of mine but they have made it so confusing that I no longer can follow it and have stopped watching. Same goes for CSI Las Vegas. All my favorite people left and so I quit watching. I seem to be sticking mostly with A&E on cable and cannot find much to hold my interest in the regular stations. I love Adventures of the New Old Christine.....she is a real hoot and I always get a laugh out of her show. We need more good comedies. Have a great weekend....I'll be back as soon as I can find something to talk about that may or may not interest you. My life is just not that exciting........but sometimes that's not bad.

I love, love, love Project Runway. And don't tell anyone... but my hubby does too. :) We've been hooked since season 1.

I watch Hoarders too. I feel so bad for them. But like you said, I look around my house and sigh in relief. Even with the mess I have!!

Hugs!

Good to see ya back. I want to see Hoarders, but it will be some time before it makes it this way, even with satellite TV....

You may want to invest in an external hard drive to back up your data to. And put the pictures on a dvd - store that dvd in another location - work or a relative's house. (Off-site backup).

Isn't all of this technology a PITA? Yes...

I used to watch hoarders, but it began to make me sick. There is hoarding, and then there is mentally distubed in a big way. Poor people.

Have a great day, Val. Big, big hugs. :)

Glad you are back!! I too need to take the time to make sure I have pictures on cd's. I think what we do (isn't that terrible, I can't remember) is before we remove them form our cameras is put them on cd's.

I don't know what is going on with some of my favorite tv programs but on just about everyone someone left! I hate it!

I don't think I've ever been hungry enough to wrestle an alligator or wrangle up snakes or live in Louisiana. I’m glad you are back, too. I have an external hard drive that automatically bacls up my computer every night around 3 a.m.

Hoarders and Christine...like them both. I have also been in TV boredom. What I like, they take away...Ugh.

Glad you got your computers finally working right,if your like me,it can drive you nuts. I wish there were more sit-com's on t.v. too. I no longer watch scary stuff or bloody stuff. I don't even watch as much t.v. as I once did because of this. There is so much sadness in the world that when I do tune in I prefer something that lightens my heart. I love a good romantic comedy because unlike real life, they always have a happy ending. Have a great day Val and may all your endings be happy too.

I've seen a couple of the hoarder shows. It really is pretty sad to see those people!!
I too used to watch Fringe and then quit - for the same reasons as you.

I quit watching Fringe last year because it got too confusing. I've watched the last two episodes this year but think I'm giving up. I'd probably get hooked on the reality shows if I started, so I'll just stick to the family dramas :)

hard, brittle, petrified, stone like. are more apropos than just ordinary hard drive. how many have crashed on me I can't count. it's all a conspiracy...sheesh, one day it will be a meandering drive, where one can simply push a key and the whole shebang will go back up without resorting to tekkies to fix the thing. I feel your pain.

It's been on my 'to do' list to make back-up discs for important files on my computer...just haven't done it yet. I do have some pictures backed-up; but I'd be devastated if some of my files were lost should my hard drive crash. I've been very lucky so far considering I've had a couple of nasty viruses. So glad your computer problems are healed Val. Hugs, Joy
