I've always loved this photograph. This is a picture of my mother, on the right, and her mother. My mom was 47 here, making her mother 63. I'm going to play around with this picture and see if I can add my own image to this at the age I am now, making me the oldest of the group. That should make quite a conversation piece, to say the least.
Since there wasn't much of an age difference between them, people used to think they were sisters and sometimes, when their horns were out, they would just let them think so.
This is the grandmother I talked about in the previous post. Most of her eight husbands had money so she was very fashionable.....and even when times were tough, you'd never know it by how she looked. My mom, on the other hand, lived on the farm with my father and did all those things that farm wives do, which is hard work, and plenty of it. However, she never failed to put on a bit of makeup to start the day, no matter what she was going to be doing......anything from laundry to canning.

Look at those beautiful blondes!! :) I would love to see your photo along with--it always amazes me for some strange reason to see the family resemblances through generations...something so obvious and natural, yet something I still find amazing and quite awesome.
Thank you for sharing! Be well, Val.
good that you have this pic. I t would be interesting to see the "updated" one.
I've never seen a picture of my mother's mother or father. I was 6or 7 when the last one died. No pictures or anything.
They so very much look alike. If there were a pic of my mother and I, it would look like that.
They look like sisters. I want to see the finished product when you get done adding yourself.
How you doing?
Another day, another fifty cents.
Hugs.
They do look like siblings...and if you were added...there would be three!
Waiting on you in the picture. I just love old photos. I got a new photoshop for christmas and am trying to learn all about it,I'm sure that will take until next christmas. Have fun tweaking the pix and when you get done maybe you could give lessons,I need them bad. Have a great day.
I love the picture and especially of the outfit your mom is wearing..and at 47! I don't even wear tanks now, conscious of my arms..but it's clear your mom carried confidence and charm..
we know where you got it from!!

What a couple of gorgeous blonds! From your little picture, dear Val, you will fit right in with them. I love that you have such a treasure as this photo!
You are so lucky to have a picture like this! Wish I had one of my mom and her mom but it will never happen...my mom didn't even have one. They are beautiful!!
Such great photos. They are both beautiful.
Hi, Val! Will look for the photo of you with them...I love the hairdos and the earrings, of course clip-ons that tortured your ears! lol..
Their profiles are so much alike!
The dresses are priceless and would fetch money in retro shop!
Love the post!
I'm still trying to get my head around having 8 husbands. Now that's stamina!!!
Wonderful photo that would only improve with your presence.
